I'm born 1970, a big AC/DC fan since 1982, when I got the "Back in Black" cassette tape together with a little cassette player from my grandpa. Fully classic rock addicted, don't like "modern" music styles like HipHop.
2009 I got a Gibson SG standard ebony, learning to play AC/DC songs from tabs and videos since then.
Beside that, I'm a totally computer addicted guy and Linux Server specialist. Working as internet server and network admin and part-time IT consultant. So, when I'm not behind my guitar, I'm behind the keyboard :-)

Posted at 10:03h, 10 MarchHadn’t seen this yet. Nice tone and gear yourself. I do like the look of the black SG’s.
So, I gather form the comments that you haven’t been playing that long? For what it’s worth you seem to be doing well as a beginner. 🙂
To mirror some of the others, which I think you get it anyway, patience and fun are the two main things. It took me a while to get the patience thing down and after I did progress leaped foreward with a BANG!!

Posted at 19:29h, 10 MarchYeah, I hear you; in my experience, patience in the beginning was the hardest; struggling, didn’t know if I’d ever make it to play anything decently. After getting that down, one needs patience to keep improving incrementally and acknowledge their own pace, but by then you already internalized that you *will* improve if you keep at it with passion. Cheers,

Posted at 20:13h, 10 MarchYes, totally right. Patience and passion is important. And it has to be fun 🙂

Posted at 20:02h, 10 MarchThanks 🙂 Yes, if I remember correctly, I got my SG exactly 1 year ago, 10th March 2010 or so. From then I started to learn seriously.
Patience was indeed my biggest problem. Later then I realized that this just takes time. And one week after this video I understand how to stop the strings correctly with palm muting, with the help of the hints here in the comments. So, right, you have to stick to it, just take your time and everything will be fine then. That’s what I’ve learned 🙂
