Renato @ Florida; I bought and started learning to play guitar about two years ago, a bit late in life (I am 39). Still a beginner, but motivated and inspired by Fil and other 'bedroom rockers'.
I've been posting a few videos here and sound bites on soundcloud, as sort of a logbook with snippets of how my playing (hopefully) evolves, and it may help inspire others who love music to take an instrument, practice, play, and have fun.
To contact me by email, my gmail.com username is the same as my username here.

Yeah, I’m pretty happy with GR4’s tone (the guitar is a Epiphone SG with stock pickups). I’ll post the settings soon. Cheers!

Posted at 15:27h, 15 MayThank you sir ๐ Yeah, I felt playing at slow tempo helped me with solos a lot, and the songs I’m playing are I think doable for those beginning to practice solos, I’m glad you liked it.
Bend vibratos are beginning to come more naturally.. When I get one right, it’s just one of the most beautiful sounds there is ๐ Cheers! Renato

Posted at 03:13h, 15 MayJust one more I’ve been transcribing and practicing, thought it might be helpful to other beginners (Guitar Rig 4, “Let there be lead” settings). Cheers, Renato

Posted at 14:59h, 15 MayMight be a stupid question, but is the “Let There Be Lead” Setting a stock-one or did you get it from somewhere? It sounds great! =)

Posted at 15:19h, 15 MayThanks, Snook – yeah, let there be lead is a stock setting – basically jmp with a bit of reverb. It showed up in my settings when I upgraded from Gr4 essential to the full version. I’ll see if I manage to take a screenshot of it. Cheers, Renato

Posted at 09:47h, 16 MayIs it possible that you send me a screenshot o a copy orf the preset itself (If you know where you can find it ) ? That would be very cool, as this tone is damn close to what I consider to be a Angus-Youngy-Tone ๐
Mail would be f.wabnitz@freenet.de ๐
Greetings!

Posted at 14:17h, 16 MayOf course, Felix ๐ I’ll try to find the preset or take screenshots tonight (at work now) and post them to the file space as well. Cheers!

Posted at 01:46h, 17 MayHere are two screenshots and the preset; I’ve uploaded to the filespace, the direct links should work:

http://filespace.exception.at/?download=GuitarRigSettings%2Flet_there_be_lead_rjofig.ksd
it turns out I did have a few minor tweaks on top of the baseline “Let there be lead” settings, and an EQ module. I also have the input volume of my GR4 “mobile” pre-amp set to max, and the bridge pickup volume at 10. Cheers!
